The story begins when Adol's ship is attacked by a fleet of Romun ships. Forced to sail into an unknown space, they encounter an outsized storm. Adol is swept off the vessel whers attempting to rescue a fellow sailor and washed ashore by the vortex that surrounds the Canaan Islands. he's found, unconscious, by the daughters of the chieftain of the nrby Rehda village, Olha and Isha. the ladies take him to their village and lay him to rest in their father's house. Adol hrs them talking regarding him and wakes up briefly, afterwards going back to sleep due to his exhaustion. His journey then begins.
